Math Solvers Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions and answers regarding our math solvers calculators and methods.

What is the order of operations used in these calculators?

Our math tools strictly follow the PEMDAS order of operations: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (left to right), and Addition and Subtraction (left to right).

What is the difference between percentage change and percentage difference?

Percentage change compares an old value to a new value chronologically (growth or drop). Percentage difference compares two static numbers of equal weight relative to their midpoint, where the direction of comparison does not matter.

How do I convert degrees to radians in trigonometry?

By default, standard scientific inputs parse angles in radians. To convert degrees to radians, multiply the degrees by Pi and divide by 180 (Radians = Degrees * Pi / 180).
